once i got to renaming the extension i got stuck. my track didnt even have an extension on it! but it does say it is m4a format. what do i do?!

ok i did this no problem on pc after i made the changes wilboss mentioned it took a while to get it right but this vid is spot on
I did all of this and the ringtone appeared in the ringtones section of itunes. But when I tell it to sync, it won’t sync the ringtone. I made sure that sync ringtones is checked but still nothing. What do I need to do?

In the Explorer window go into ‘Tools’ –> ‘Folder Options’, ‘View’ tab then untick ‘Hide extensions for known file types’. The extensions will then appear and you can amend it to .m4r
it all went well until i hit renaming it to m4r…i have a pc i cant just simply rename it and change it like that i cant.
bandsector, cheers for sharing that. Question though, once i clip the part i need, i downloaded it until the bigger ‘download arrow’ appears and then clicked that, but it just takes me back to the home screen! How do i save it. Cheers.

NEVER WORKS I TRIED DIFFERENT WAYS FROM VIDS ON YT.. ppl just Change it’s time like make it from 3:45 to 4:09 sumthin wtvr then cut it then save it as a m4r n thats it =]

Another easy way to do it is to go to mobilespin and use their free online ringtone tool. After you use the tool to create your ringtone (in only 3 steps), it gives you a .m4r file which you put in iTunes and sync and you are done! You can create as many ringtones as you want! Remember if you have iTune songs (which are M4P format), convert them to MP3 first, there are many free tools to do this
