The iPhone 3GS: It’s Better on 2G
It could be an iPhone issue, sure. Perhaps the air call for 3G usually sucks? I dunno. I do know that with 3G off, my calls have been louder, clearer, and I can contend them even — gasp! — when I’m relocating around.
